Where the Mountain Splits the Dark

Across a remote wall of black stone, fractures reveal what the mountain has held beneath its surface for centuries. Pale mineral deposits rise through the darkness in narrow vertical seams, filling ancient breaks with quartz and calcite. Along selected edges, iron carried by groundwater leaves traces of bronze and ochre, warming the otherwise monochromatic rock.

Zahara St Laurant reflects that stark geological contrast. Its deep charcoal field recalls a shadowed mountain face, while slender ivory veins appear like mineral-filled faults exposed by erosion. Warm golden-brown accents cling to portions of those fractures, suggesting places where water and oxidized minerals have slowly altered the stone.
